The day after
30 March 2008
The day after our CD presentation: tired, a hangover and a lot of cleaning up to do. So feeling absolutely great! Last night went down like we planned and hoped it would.
We got together in the afternoon at Utopia to put up all our gear, put up our big backdrop in the back of the stage and build up the amazing merchandise stand. When you’re presenting a new CD you should at least try to sell it, right? ;) The sound check went fine. After a couple of songs everybody was happy with their sound, Ron was in love with his new guitar effect and we were all feeling confident about the performance to come. Then we all had a bite (thanx Utopia!) and the venue opened it’s doors for the public. From the moment the doors opened ’till the moment we started playing people came in and the place was packed in no-time.
Just a few moments till show time! Sjacco, our announcer, warmed up the crowd and introduced the band. First we played a couple of our old songs to get everybody in the partying mood. This was also our chance to play a couple of the songs that didn’t make it into the album. After about 45 min. we got to the official part: The official release. We all lined up, including Karin who did the backing vocals and Edwin Balogh, our producer. Edwin officially handed out the CD to all of us. Now it’s time to let the people hear what it sounds like, so we played all the tracks of the new album. We played 120 minutes straight through, and the crowd’s reaction was a dream. We got great responses from people who loved the music and the playing. I think we sold over 100 copies in one evening, which is spectacular!
In conclusion: a great gig, a CD to be proud of, a wonderful audience and just a great night!!
Thank you all and see you soon…
Paul R. Stuurop Says:
Paul (Pilske) Stuurop
